Jax Taylor Says He Used To Be Able To Locate Cocaine In ‘Minutes’

Now that Jax Taylor has come forward about his cocaine addiction, the “Vanderpump Rules” reality star is sharing more than ever before.

On a recent episode of his podcast, Jax Taylor, who’s now speaking candidly about his journey to sobriety after two decades of hard drug use, said his cocaine habit was so intense, he could track it down in “minutes.”

While chatting about his journey with addiction and now sobriety with his Bravo co-star, Tom Schwartz, Taylor said that when he was using the illicit drug, locating it was never a problem for him.

“I had a sixth sense of finding it no matter where we were,” Taylor said on his podcast, “In The Mind of a Man.” Regardless of what “state or country” the notorious party boy was in, according to him, he found cocaine “within minutes.”

Schwartz, who is now appearing alongside Taylor in season 2 of “The Valley,” said he was aware of Taylor’s drug use, mainly because of his appearance.

According to the TomTom co-owner, Taylor’s “eyes were bulging out of his skull.”

In a previous interview, Taylor reflected on why he was using cocaine and alcohol. During his conversation with E! News, the “House of Villains” star said he used the substances mainly to “mask” what he was going through.

“I will say drugs and alcohol are not the problem,” said Taylor. “The problem was I just didn’t address my mental health at all and used drugs and alcohol [to] mask it.”

He went on to say that his personal struggles, likely his ongoing divorce from Brittany Cartwright, his stint in a mental health facility, and being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, became quite “overwhelming” for him, so “drinking and substances” helped him cope.

Later, during his podcast, Taylor explained that he used cocaine to help him interact with other people.

“It got to the point where I needed it to be social,” he said. “It was a social drug for me. Like in the beginning days, in the early days, I did it of course because I like the rise, but towards the end I did it just to stay awake because I would crash around 9 or 10 o’clock.”

Although Taylor is sober today, viewers of “The Valley” will see his journey before reaching that point in the upcoming batch of episodes.

The first episode aired on April 15, 2025, and according to Taylor, his behavior during the season will only get worse. In fact, he said he gets “really, really bad.”

However, Taylor wants fans of the show to remember that the season was filmed over a year ago, and he’s made much progress on himself since then.

“I was calling the producers. I’m like, ‘Should I watch this? Should I watch this?’ Then I’m like, ‘I don’t wanna watch this.’ They’re like, ‘Jax, listen. It was a year ago. The show was shot a year ago,” Taylor revealed before saying he’s in a “different place.”

On the latest episode of his podcast, he echoed a similar sentiment.

“I know where I am at today and I’m okay to look back and be like, man I was a bad person because I’m pretty strong person today,” the father of one said. “And I’ve worked so hard to get where I’m at. And also, keep in mind, the show was shot a year ago. I am in a different place. I have different relationships. You know, the dynamic has changed. So I can look back and like, ‘Wow, I’ve grown a lot.'”

Taylor also said that watching himself back from a year ago has given him a whole new perspective on drugs and alcohol.

“I don’t miss any of it,” he said. “Like I said, I watched back the episode. I just look sweaty, and my eyes are bulging, and I’m out of shape…. I just gave myself the ick… I looked disgusting. I was like 180 pounds. I just look gross.”

As he put it, he’ll never go back to his old self, especially now that he knows how damaging the substances can be to his body.
