Jamie Oliver knows exactly what he would like to eat for his last meal on Earth.
The celebrity chef, 49, opened up about the topic while chatting with Parade at an exclusive brunch held at his Jamie’s Italian restaurant onboard Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas on Wednesday, April 30.

“My last meal? I think, for nostalgic reasons — my mum used to do the most amazing roast dinners,” he said. “It could have been a chunk of beef or lamb or chicken or whatever, with all the trimmings, all the little sauces and salsas. And there’s some pretty weird but brilliant sauces that we’d have with it: red sauce, gravy, all homemade.”
He continued: “I think just sentimentally, like, Dad would be at the end of the table carving, and everyone’s passing stuff around. I think I’d probably have to choose that just for nostalgic reasons. It’s always a hard question.”
The following day, Parade caught up with Oliver again in an exclusive interview at a private luncheon at Thomas Keller’s Ad Hoc & French Laundry establishments in Napa Valley, Calif. While in Napa, he and his Chef’s Table co-stars also celebrated The Culinary Institute of America’s Reel Taste Film Awards, as well as the Season 10 premiere of Netflix’s Chef’s Table: Legends.

In one of the new episodes, Oliver casually shows off a handwritten note from Friends alum Jennifer Aniston when she was married to now ex-husband Brad Pitt. While chatting with Parade, Oliver explained how he first connected with the A-listers decades ago.
“I was Brad’s 40th birthday present from Jen, and that’s the first time I met her,” he said. “She actually called the restaurant a couple of times, and I think we thought it was like a hoax, so I think the phone was put down a few times. But we got in contact. I don’t do private hires for special people. I just never have, but I do do things for people that I love and admire, and I love and admire both of them.”
He continued: “So, I came over and did his dinner party for his 40th, back in the day, and I’ve stayed in touch with Jen. She is as good and as gorgeous and wonderful and more than you would expect.”
Chef’s Table: Legends is now streaming on Netflix.
