Jamie Lee Curtis’ most important role is being a mom to her two daughters

While many know her from her many iconic roles, including the Halloween franchise and Everything Everywhere All at Once, Jamie Lee Curtis’ most important role is being a mom to her two daughters.
While speaking with the New York Times ahead of the release of Freakier Friday, in which she reprises her role as single mom Tess Coleman alongside Lindsay Lohan’s Anna Coleman, the actress, 66, candidly revealed some of the hardships she faced as a mom in the entertainment business.
“I’m a mom of two daughters. Motherhood is hard, particularly motherhood and show business,” she told the outlet. “It was a struggle for me from when Annie was a baby and I was making A Fish Called Wanda. There wasn’t a day I didn’t cry in the car, leaving a 6-month-old at home. This is a fun, exciting, creative life, but I have struggled.”

Curtis and Guest became parents through adoption after experiencing infertility, Curtis said in Pact’s Point of View Newsletter. She wrote, “Motherhood is every wonderful cliché in the book. There is an unexplainable sort of thing you just feel. It’s a permanent commitment, one I’ve changed my life to meet.”
In October 2022, the actress was accompanied by her daughters on the red carpet for the world premiere of Halloween Ends at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. All three women looked glamorous as they posed together with Curtis, who was wearing a shimmery red off-the-shoulder gown with long sleeves.
Annie rocked a strapless black dress with a sweetheart neckline and silver roses on either side of the bodice, while her younger sister wore a silver dress under a black jacket. Ruby also carried the perfect accessory for the event over her shoulder: a pumpkin-shaped bag.
“My family. Proudest mother. Loving support. @halloweenmovie,” Curtis captioned a photo of the glammed-up trio on Instagram.
The Halloween Ends premiere came four months after she officiated the wedding of daughter Ruby and her partner, Kynthia, during an event where attendants and guests came in cosplay attire.

While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in March of 2022, the Knives Out star said she’d officiate Ruby’s wedding dressed as World of Warcraft character Jaina Proudmoore. Curtis added that she was especially excited that her younger daughter would be tying the knot in the backyard of the family home, just like Annie did three years prior.
“We’re gonna have a beautiful picnic in the backyard. I’m really excited,” Curtis told host Jimmy Kimmel. “Both my children will have been married in my backyard, which brings me to tears.”
“It’s so much more meaningful,” the mother of two explained. “Just forgetting all of show-off business — being a parent, having both of your children married in your backyard.”
