Jack White fulfilled a “longtime mission” after seeing the Detroit Tigers face-off with the Philadelphia Phillies

On Sunday, Aug. 3, the rocker — a known baseball fan — shared a post on Instagram detailing how he fulfilled a certain “longtime mission” while seeing the Detroit Tigers face-off with the Philadelphia Phillies earlier that day.
“Today myself, Lalo and david swanson, completed our longtime mission of seeing a baseball game in every major league baseball stadium!” White, 50, began the post. “The Philadelphia Phillies versus the Detroit Tigers at citizens bank park in Philadelphia. (Tigers won!) It was a beautiful park.
He continued: “Now a question for the baseball public: is it necessary that we see a game in the temporary stadium that the Tampa Bay Rays are currently playing in? Have we completed the journey or not since the stadium is only temporary?”
White then noted that he and his pals saw “a game already at the temporary home to the Athletics, Sutter health park in Sacramento.”
Alongside the caption, the “Seven Nation Army” hitmaker shared a photo of him in a black leather jacket, a blue T-shirt and sunglasses in front of the field at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia; an image of him with two people who appear to be his friends in the parking lot; an image of the Jumbotron; and a snap of the attendees.
White hasn’t been shy about sharing his love of baseball over the years.

“You know what it’s like when you go to see an MLB game between the Cubs and the Dodgers in Tokyo, Japan wearing a game worn Cubs jersey from the year you were born (’75) with your favorite number on it that Eddie Vedder gifted you before the game and you walk to your seat and realize that Bill Murray is by the randomness of the universe sitting next to you to watch that game. You know that feeling right?” White captioned an Instagram post at the time.
The White Stripes alum also performed the national anthem ahead of a Detroit Tigers’ baseball game against the Chicago White Sox in 2022, per NME.

Back in 2016, White even invested in a baseball bat company with Detroit Tigers All-Star Ian Kinsler, according to Rolling Stone.
