It was not surprising to see Jennifer Lopez wear a full Christian Dior ensemble for a long day of travel, what was surprising was that she styled it with a pair of affordable flip-flops.
It seems that the “Can’t Get Enough” singer—known for her extravagant rich-mom wardrobe and penchant for maximalist designer pieces—is trying out high-low dressing this summer, and naturally, she has already mastered it.
Lopez was seen touching down in Pisa, Italy, this morning, ahead of her Up All Night Tour performance in the charming nearby town of Lucca. Straight off the airplane, the superstar wore a crisp white Dior blouse with elegant short puff sleeves, which she tucked into a khaki pleated skirt also from the French fashion house. The high-waisted maxi skirt had a lace-up waistline that looked like a sporty corset, and an unexpected asymmetric hemline.
J.Lo had her hair styled in a messy low bun and accessorized her sophisticated airport look with thick black aviator eyeglasses with champagne-tinted lenses, and layers of chunky jewelry, including her beloved Jennifer necklace. And while we can usually expect the singer to slip into a pair of towering stilettos, sky-high wedges, or elevated platforms, this time around she opted for comfort and style in some chic golden flip-flops—seemingly the $60 “Lily Metallics” from Tkees.
If even J.Lo is wearing flip-flops this summer, it’s safe to say the low-key shoe style is so back.
