As the star of such unforgettable films as Blue Velvet and Death Becomes Her, Isabella Rossellini has been stunning audiences with her talent and beauty for decades. Now, at 73, the actress and model is embracing the “freedom” that comes with age…and looking every bit as gorgeous as ever in the process, as a recent video proved.
Rossellini took to Instagram this week to share a hilarious clip of herself riding a bicycle at her farm — known as Mama Farm — in Long Island, NY, where she raises (but never slaughters) poultry, sheep, goats and more. In the video, the star — wearing a straw hat — was followed by a flock of clucking chickens as she pedaled.
“Look at that,” she said to the camera in amazement. “They follow me.”

Commenters weren’t surprised to see that the chickens wanted to follow Rossellini.
“They love you, like we all do,” one person gushed, with a second adding, “Oh Isabella, I love you so much! You are so inspiring and beautiful!”
“Because of your beautiful soul!!!” agreed someone else.
“There is something so attractive about a woman with lots of chickens,” quipped yet another fan, as somebody chimed in to say, “You are so enchanting, and quite funny!”

In a 2024 interview with The Guardian, Rossellini opened up about her experience with the aging in the spotlight, sharing a refreshingly honest take on the topic.
“You know, you get wrinkles and you get fat and you lose a kind of beauty — that is true,” she said. “But they never talk about the freedom that comes with that.”
“More than freedom, a lightness,” the actress continued. “When you’re young, you have so many things to prove. You have to prove that you are intelligent, that you’re financially independent, that you’re a good parent. There are so many obligations. And when you’re old, you’re not proving yourself any more. I don’t know if I’m that intelligent or not. I am who I am. You start to say, if I don’t do what I want to do now, I will never do it. And life becomes more fun.”
