General Hospital fans are hoping the hit ABC soap is about to right a wrong. Last fall, the show abruptly fired Kelly Monaco and killed off the character of Sam.
However, over the past few weeks, Sam has been mentioned pretty much daily. All of the Sam talk has social media buzzing with speculation that the character is returning from the dead.

“The constant mentioning of Sam, almost every episode has to mean something, right? What it means though, I don’t know. But no other off-screen character is mentioned this much. Bring Kelly Monaco back #GH Bring her back ❤️🙌 #IStandWithKelly #KellyMonaco #GeneralHospital #ABC,” read an X.
Another revealed that if Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) can come back from the dead, so can Sam. The X used a GIF of Jimmy Fallon to express their opinion.

“It’s so crazy bc every single story that’s currently onscreen would be so much better with Sam’s involvement. Sam fits into all of these storylines & she could’ve been the umbrella piece. #GH really shot themselves in the foot by killing off Sam & they should rehire KeMo already,” stated an X.

Sadly, the last X pretty much sums up the return of Sam. If the writers do decide to bring back Sam, it likely won’t be Monaco in the role.
Considering the way she was let go from the show and how they used Sam’s death to prop up new Lulu (Alexa Havins), it would be a surprise if Monaco returned.
Neither ABC nor Monaco has commented on the possibility of Sam returning to Port Charles. Right now, General Hospital is focused on Britt’s return from the dead, so another back-from-the-dead storyline wouldn’t be on the horizon until next year.
Fans will have to keep watching the hit ABC soap to see if all these mentions of Sam mean something or if it’s just fallout from her death.
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
