Naomi Campbell reportedly won’t be making an appearance at the 2025 Met Gala this year.
Reports alleged that the supermodel was banned from this year’s festivities amid rumors of a feud with Anna Wintour.
However, a spokesperson for Campbell confirmed the model was not banned.
As fans tune into the biggest night in fashion year after year, Naomi Campbell’s Met Gala outfits are consistently some of the evening’s most flawless—even though she’s the first to admit she doesn’t “follow themes.” Despite putting her own twist on Met Gala host Anna Wintour’s dress code, the British supermodel effortlessly slays the steps each year with a combination of glitter, feathers, fringe, and other bold details.
Though a now-unpublished report from The Sun alleged that Campbell was barred from this year’s festivities amid rumors of a feud with Anna Wintour, a representative for the model confirmed rumors of a ban are untrue. However, Campbell will not be attending the Met Gala this year—a surprising absence during a year that celebrates Black fashion with the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” One of the most iconic Black supermodels of all time, Campbell—who first graced the Met Gala steps in a Gianni Versace strapless silver gown back in 1990—has attended the Met Gala 17 times.

Naomi Campbell and Met Gala host Anna Wintour are reportedly feuding after a 2024 award show.
Once close to the longtime Vogue editor-in-chief, the pair’s relationship allegedly soured after a tense exchange at a September 2024 award show. While presenting Campbell with the Fashion Icon Award at the 17th Annual Harlem’s Fashion Row Fashion Show & Style Awards, Wintour addressed the British supermodel’s lateness as she told the crowd, “I am a very punctual person, and I have the honour of presenting tonight to someone who is often late.” Wintour left the event after waiting for Campbell, and Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Samira Nasr ended up presenting her with the award when she arrived.

“It wasn’t my choice to have the other lady, I’d much rather have this one,” Campbell told the audience, seemingly shading the fashion scion.

White sharing a behind-the-scenes look at her 2024 Met Gala dress, Campbell told fans, “This is my last Met.” She explained, “I can’t, I’m too old. It’s too much for me. The anxiety. I don’t know what number this is for me, I think it could be number 20 or 21. Can you imagine?”
