Machine Gun Kelly and Sydney Sweeney have been fueling the rumor mill ever since that cozy Vegas clip made the rounds earlier this year. Now, the 35-year-old musician finally addressed the chatter—live, on national TV.

On Sunday, August 10, MGK appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. During a viewer Q&A, someone asked if he and Sweeney, 27, were “more than just friends.” Without missing a beat, he looked straight into the camera and said, “Kyle P, shut up, dude.”

The question wasn’t totally out of the blue. Back on May 3, the two were spotted at the Palm Tree Beach Club opening in Las Vegas. TMZ clips showed them hugging and leaning in close, which quickly spread across TikTok and X (formerly Twitter). MGK—whose real name is Colson Baker—even posted a group shot to Instagram that included the Euphoria star later that month, adding fuel to the fire.

Sweeney hasn’t commented on the Grammy nominee directly, but in a May interview with The Times, she confirmed that she’s single and “loving it” following her March split from fiancé Jonathan Davino. She’s also been busy filming The Housemaid and promoting her upcoming Toronto International Film Festival premiere Christy.

MGK, meanwhile, has a full plate of his own. He and ex-fiancée Megan Fox welcomed daughter Saga Blade in March, and he’s currently promoting his new album Lost Americana, which was released August 8.

In a recent interview with People, the “Cliché” singer said fatherhood “recharges your will-to-live battery and recertifies your you-have-a-purpose-here sticker”—a sentiment that runs through his music. He revealed in his emotionally raw track “Treading Water” that becoming a father to Saga pushed him to get help. In addition to the little one, MGK is dad to 16-year-old Casie, who he says has “saved [him] from making some career mistakes” and remains one of his biggest supporters.

As for the dad of two and Sweeney, their connection goes back years—they first worked together on Big Time Adolescence in 2019 and reunited for MGK’s 2021 film Downfalls High. So are they in a romantic relationship? For now, it doesn’t look that way.
