Spoilers ahead for Étoile season one.
When Prime Video announced Étoile back in 2023, they did so with a two-season order. So there’s a good chance Étoile will be back for season two, but it’s not technically a go quite yet. As Amy Sherman-Palladino says, “Hollywood’s a funny place.” Her co-creator and husband Dan Palladino adds, “We would love the Town & Country audience to write into Amazon if they liked the show…”
Should a second season materialize, the Palladinos are ready. “Oh, we have plots and plans. We have all sorts of ideas. We certainly left everybody in really tough positions, and we’d love to pursue it,” Dan says. Amy chimes in, adding the characters are “in good space to move forward!”
The cast, too, would all be excited for a second season. For Yanic Truesdale, who plays Raphael, he says “there’s a lot to explore” with his character. “They had told me already when I joined in season one that we would go much deeper in season two with him because we don’t know much about him in season one,” he tells T&C. “So obviously I’m looking forward, if we get a season two, to dig into who is that guy? I’m intrigued by him. I already have some sort of an idea I’ve made for myself, but it’s always interesting what the writers and especially what [the Palladinos] have in mind. So we shall see. But that would be absolutely wonderful.”
For Gideon Glick, who plays Tobias, he’s eager to explore Tobias and Gabin’s relationship in a second season. “I’ve been pitching that Tobias goes to Tokyo, Tobias takes Tokyo, has a really good alliterative [appeal], but we have budget restraints, so I don’t know about that… [laughs] And it doesn’t go with our premise.”
We’ll update this as we learn more about Étoile season two.
