Insider Reveals Miley Cyrus’ Reaction To Billy Ray Cyrus’ Recent Comments

Tensions within the Cyrus family appear to be escalating once again, with Miley Cyrus reportedly “fuming” over her father Billy Ray Cyrus’ recent social media post praising her and her sister, Noah Cyrus, for their musical achievements.

The post, which was meant as a show of support, has instead stirred up new drama amid Miley Cyrus’ long-standing family feud with her father.

“Holy sh-t. I seldom ever swear in my post but this deserves one! You are witnessing in real time what it feels like for a Dad, who with in less than one [week’s] time, has had his a kicked and his mind blown by not one …but two of his own daughters,” he wrote in a caption of a post showing both Miley and Noah.

“Flesh and blood… completely taking their art to a whole new level,” he added. “Congratulations girls! Well done.”

Despite the warm tone of the tribute, a source told Daily Mail that Miley was less than thrilled. “Miley doesn’t want the family feud drama overshadowing her music career, especially right now as she gears up for a new era,” the insider revealed.

Billy Ray continued his message, adding, “I’m so damn proud of both of you. I’m actually crying as I write this. Thank God you can’t see me. Have fun now and be happy! Love Dad.”

However, the source close to Miley Cyrus emphasized that the post felt self-serving. “It feels like Billy is making this all about him while Miley has made it quite clear she wants to focus on her music and not have their family drama be part of the conversation.”

Miley notably omitted any mention of her father during her acceptance speech at the 2024 Grammys, where she won Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit “Flowers.” The omission didn’t go unnoticed by fans and further highlighted the reported distance between the two.

Earlier this year, following Billy Ray’s performance at Donald Trump’s Liberty Ball, in which he battled technical issues, he announced a musical collaboration with his son, Braison. Meanwhile, Noah publicly congratulated him on the release of his single “LOST” in February, showing some signs of unity within parts of the family.

“You’re not healthy, Dad & everyone is noticing it,” he wrote. “Sadly, the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. It seems this world has beaten you down, and it’s become obvious to everyone but you.”

Trace’s message also pointed to wider concerns within the family, stating, “Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years, but you’ve pushed all of us away.”

Firerose, who Billy Ray split from in 2024, later echoed similar sentiments in a statement to Page Six, shedding light on her experience with Billy Ray during their short-lived marriage.

“What’s being seen in public now reflects much of what I experienced in private during our relationship,” she said. “It’s very sad to see those same struggles continue for him, but I’m glad the truth is coming to light, for his potential good because healing is only possible when you confront the truth and accept there’s a problem.”

Billy Ray shares Miley, Noah, Trace, Braison, and Brandi with ex-wife Tish Cyrus. He also has a 32-year-old son, Christopher, with former partner Kristin Luckey.
