Australian sweetheart sisters Lauren and Katie Hamden, famously known as the Hamden Twins, have shared how they built a six-figure-a-month social media empire.

The sisters have transformed their digital expertise into a thriving business, earning over $300,000 per month.

With a combined following exceeding two million, the twins have made a name for themselves in the beauty and fashion influencer space, sharing insights into their style and daily lives.

For Katie and Lauren Hamden, social media started as a fun way to connect with friends and share their daily lives. But what began as a hobby quickly turned into a full-fledged career.

“Our journey began with a shared love for fashion, beauty, and lifestyle,” they told The Blast in an exclusive interview. “At some point in our teen years, we both became obsessed with beauty, as most teens do, and started posting different trends. We ended up really blowing up.”

Now, with over two million followers across platforms like Instagram and Snapchat, the Hamden Twins have spent the last ten years cultivating a loyal audience.

“As our amazing audience grew, we realized our passion for fashion resonated with many of our followers,” they shared.

While their twin dynamic is a major draw for fans, Katie and Lauren are intentional about maintaining their individuality.

“Being twins really does offer a unique dynamic for both us and our fans, but I assure you we are both quite different,” Katie said.

“I am definitely the more light-hearted one, hahaha, hence why my hair is blonde,” she added. “My content is very bright and polished. I am the nice one, even though my other half would disagree.”

Lauren, on the other hand, embraces her darker aesthetic. “I definitely am the more ‘dark twin,'” she said. “I can read people, and I am definitely the first to call something out if I don’t like it. I swear I am friendly, though!”

Their contrasting personalities create a balance that keeps their content fresh and engaging.

“Over time, we’ve embraced our differences, allowing each of us to bring unique perspectives to our content,” they explained.

Earning over $300,000 per month, the Hamden Twins have successfully diversified their income streams.

“It took us a lot of time to really master social media algorithms and grow across platforms, but at the moment, I think our favorite is Snapchat for sure. Instagram too, but Snap is just so fun,” they said.

However, when it comes to brand partnerships, they’re selective about who they work with.

“We prioritize brands that align with our values and resonate with our audience. We are both firm believers in the quality versus quantity business model,” they explained.

Despite tempting offers, they refuse to promote just anything. “Brands will reach out and say, ‘We will pay you $20,000 for free clothes,’ but the thing is, our followers are more important than being cheap sellouts,” they shared.

That said, there’s one brand they’re eager to work with. “One brand we love is SOUTH ST. We would both love to work with them, so if they are reading this, our DMs are open.”

With social media algorithms constantly evolving, staying visible requires strategy, and the Hamden Twins know this.

“We have two major things going for us in this case,” they explained. “First, we are VERY authentic when we engage with our followers and give back to them, so they are very loyal to us. It’s a very organic and authentic relationship.”

The second factor? Their dynamic as twins. “Of course, two pretty twins are attractive on social media, but honestly, it’s more than that,” they shared.

The twins added, “Our lives are just so crazy and interesting that this in itself keeps an audience engaged, even paving the road for viral trends ourselves.”

Like any influencers in the public eye, the Hamden Twins have faced criticism but don’t let negativity get to them.

“We maintain a strong support system for each other,” they shared. “When faced with criticism, we lean on each other and focus on the positive impact. Honestly, we don’t know what someone is going through on that given day, so we just try and stay as positive as possible.”

To prevent burnout, they prioritize self-care. “We both regularly exercise… a lot, and eat as healthy as possible,” they revealed. “Ironically, we actually cook all our meals at home. We have accidentally given ourselves an intolerance to olive oil, hahaha. We like basic, healthy stuff like taco bowls and Greek yogurt.”

Looking ahead, the twins are expanding their reach into new ventures. “Katie has been learning music production and is eager to share her music soon,” they shared. “Lauren is developing a clothing line featuring her own designs, aiming to offer pieces that reflect our personal style.”

They also teased some exciting developments. “We do have a major event we’ve been invited to later this year, but we can’t give that away yet, so you’ll have to subscribe and wait for it!”
