Brooke Hogan’s relationship with her father, Hulk Hogan, was rocky in the years leading up to his death.
The television personality, 37, and the controversial six-time WWE Champion, who was 71 at the time of his passing, were reportedly estranged and hadn’t spoken since September 2023 – shortly before Hulk tied the knot with wife Sky Daily Hogan.
Despite their broken relationship, Brooke “expressed deep love and concern” for her dad in their final conversation together, according to sources who spoke with TMZ. She also reportedly told him that she wanted him to “slow down and enjoy life” following health issues.
“Brooke was always coming from a place of love and concern — even when it wasn’t well-received,” TMZ stated one insider told them.
However, Hulk was allegedly cold and distant to her, even when she had major complications with the birth of her twins. He reportedly never tried to meet them and “only wanted a relationship” with Brooke on “his terms,” the outlet reported.
Still, the Glow actress reportedly felt “lucky” to have said that she loved him in their last conversation prior to his death.
Amid their issues, the former pro wrestler was said to be “very proud of her,” according to a representative for Brooke.
“She was his little girl,” the rep told Page Six. “We still can’t believe he is gone.”
As Star previously reported, Hulk was confirmed to have died at a hospital near his Florida home on Thursday, July 24. Earlier in the day, medical personnel arrived at his property following reports of a “cardiac arrest.” He was spotted being put on a stretcher and taken into an ambulance.
Hulk’s wife, Sky, 46, took to her Instagram Stories earlier this month to shoot down rumors that her husband was “in a coma.” She clarified that he had been “in and out” of the hospital while recovering from a “four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusin (ACDF),” which is a major back surgery “with a long and layered healing process.”
“His heart is strong, and there was never any lack of oxygen or brain damage,” she explained at the time. “None of those rumors are true.”
His manager Jimmy Hart also said Hulk was “doing phenomenal” two days before his death in a social media post shared to X.
His death is currently being investigated, but it’s been reported that there has been no indication of foul play.
“Our personnel is providing the family with the necessary resources,” Major Nate Burnside of the Clearwater Police Department said in a statement on Thursday. “I strongly encourage everyone to keep the family in their thoughts, and please respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
