By collaborating with Beyonce (“Texas Hold ‘Em”), Kendrick Lamar and SZA (“Luther”), Childish Gambino, J-Lo, Lil Nas X and more, Ink is one of the most successful and versatile songwriters to come out of Nashville in recent years. And she’s about to show the world her skills as an artist by signing with Big Loud Records and Electric Feel Records, with management by SalXCo.
She is also one of the five songwriters spotlighted at Variety’s Power of Women Nashville, taking place on Thursday.

“Signing with Big Loud and Electric Feel Records feels like the beginning of a new chapter, one where I can truly embrace my sound and the stories I’ve been holding inside,” Ink says. “It’s surreal, but I know this is where I’m supposed to be. Ink’s reputation as a songwriter precedes her. She co-wrote the “Cowboy Carter” tracks “16 Carriages,” “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “Ameriican Requiem,” as well as a contender for biggest song of the year, Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther,” which is currently in its ninth week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, along with four other songs on Lamar’s smash album “GNX.”
“I’m trying to take it to the four corners of the Earth and back — as far as it can go and where it’s never been before,” Ink told Variety recently. “I just love that joy when people are out enjoying themselves and you’re making a soundtrack to their life. Country music, to me, is more of a feeling. Sometimes it feels like a big ass hug at the family reunion. It’s all about the storytelling.
“And for me,” she concluded, “it’s not time to fit in a box, it’s time to break the mold.”
