Lizzie Kieffer wrote that being a mom was her “greatest honor” in her last post on Instagram before sharing the news of her 12-month-old daughter’s death.
The influencer, who’s known for her health and fitness content, announced that her daughter died on April 26 and revealed doctors found a large mass on her brain.
Kieffer announced on March 2 that she’s expecting a third child due in September 2025.
Lizzie Kieffer opened up about the joys of being a mom just three days before announcing the death of her 12-month-old daughter, Lilian “Lily” Louise.
“Being in the front row seat to their life is my greatest honor, 💕” she captioned the video shared to Instagram, her last post before announcing the news of her daughter’s death. “Never forgot this was the whole point,” the text overlay read.
The video was a compilation of clips that featured her kids spending time together. They are seen strolling outside, playing on the floor, stretching alongside one another and hugging.

Kieffer, who uses her background in physical therapy and fitness to teach women about health, opened up about the tragic death of Lillian with an Instagram post on Saturday, April 26.
“We are shattered,” she began her statement. “Wednesday we woke up to a nightmare that we never imagined becoming our reality. Our Lily passed away.”

“Our hearts, our bodies, our souls ache for her as she was the purist of beings and brought light to every single space she filled,” she penned. “Our days are written before we were even formed, and in Lily’s 374 days of life, she taught us more than I think many could in their lifetime.”
Kieffer said there is a lot she and her husband Matt still don’t know about their daughter’s death, but she said that doctors told them that 12-month-old Lily had a large mass on her brain.

“We also have come to learn that Lily had a large mass on her brain that we could have never known about as she never showed signs,” she wrote. “We won’t know more answers with many of these things for months until further testing is done.”
Kieffer also opened up about how her faith has helped her and her husband over the last week.

“We don’t have answers and we don’t know why this is God’s plan for our lives. And we will never fully understand this mystery until we see her again one day. What we do know is God is faithful and brings light to the darkest of places,” she wrote in part.
“And we know Lily is being held so tight by Jesus and loved ones in heaven,” she continued. “And probably playing in her ball pit or riding in her little red car up there. We feel her.”
Kieffer previously announced that she was expecting a third child in March, with an expected due date of September 2025. The couple is also parents to a daughter named Mia.
