While members of the royal family giving interviews is practically a daily occurrence, for some royals its far more common than others. On the rarified side is Lady Gabriella Windsor, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, making her recent interview with Hello! all the more notable.
Among the tidbits Gabriella shared about her love of music—she’s reportedly the only member of the royal family to have released her own songs—and her charitable work promoting music education, she also shared her experience of working with Kate Middleton on the Princess of Wales’s annual Christmas carol concert last December.
“It was such an honor to be involved, and very thoughtful and kind-hearted of the Princess to include me. I was very touched,” she said of being personally invited by Kate to help develop the program. “She was so lovely to work with, always gracious, very creative and with so much vision and passion for the many charities and causes she supports.”
She added, “The Princess’s carol concert is such a brilliant event and idea, to thank and shine a light on hundreds of the most outstanding charities in the UK. I was happy to have a little part in it. My role was to support on the musical side of things, and to put forward artists and ideas.”
The two royal ladies came together for the charity event following challenging years for each of them; Kate was still making a slow return to royal duties following treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer, while Gabriella had suffered the unexpected death of her husband, Thomas Kingston, in February of that year.
