IKEA’s not done with America yet.
The Swedish furniture giant is back at it — adding more dots to the U.S. map in 2025 and 2026.

What Has IKEA Said About Its Expansion?
At the end of fiscal 2024, IKEA had 51 stores, 10 Plan and Order points, and 39 pick-up locations across the country.
A spokesperson told USA TODAY that the company has opened five new locations this year and has six more coming before 2025 wraps — three big-box stores and three smaller Plan & Order points with pick-up.
“At IKEA, we’ve always believed that a better everyday life starts at home — and that belief is at the heart of everything we do,” said Rob Olson, IKEA U.S. COO.
“Whether it’s through our new small-format stores, our Plan & Order points, or a more seamless digital experience, we’re working to make IKEA more accessible and convenient than ever before.”
What Is a Plan and Order Point?
The Plan and Order points gives customers a place to plan big projects — like kitchens, bathrooms, and closets — with expert help. It’s more city-friendly and less “drive-an-hour-to-the-warehouse.”
IKEA knows that convenience sells, especially when it’s paired with next-day pick-up and the promise of not getting lost in an aisle of tealight candles.
Where Has IKEA Already Opened This Year?
So far in 2025, IKEA has quietly added several new locations in the following states:
Arizona
A Plan and Order point in Scottsdale
California
Three Plan and Order points in Thousand Oaks, Ontario, and Colma
A separate pick-up location opened in Santa Monica, offering full-service support like delivery and assembly
Where Is IKEA Headed Next?
By the end of 2025, IKEA plans to open:
Plan and Order points (with pick-up):
Cherry Hill, Pennsylvania (June)
Beaverton, Oregon (June)
Hunt Valley, Maryland (July)
Large-format stores:
San Marcos, Texas (July)
McAllen, Texas (October)
Dallas, Texas (December)
Looking ahead to 2026, two large-format stores — one in Rockwall, Texas, and one in Phoenix, Arizona — are already on the books, with more likely to follow.
