Iconic Star Announced as Host of ‘Fear Factor’ Reboot; Casting Underway originally appeared on Parade.
Fear Factor is back, and it is bringing an MTV icon with it.
Fear Factor is being revived at FOX under the title Fear Factor: The Next Chapter, which the network announced in May. Now they have revealed the host for the gross-out competition series and it’s definitely a fitting choice — Jackass creator and star Johnny Knoxville.
This version of Fear Factor will work a little bit more like Survivor, with the contestants living together in a remote, no-frills location.
“The iconic reality competition Fear Factor is coming back bigger, bolder and more daring. Dropped into an unforgiving, remote location, a group of strangers will live together under one roof, and face mind-blowing stunts, harrowing challenges, and a twisted game of social strategy where trust is fleeting — and fear is a weapon. Only one contestant will conquer all their fears and walk away with the massive grand prize!” reads the description.

“Johnny Knoxville is the champion of fearless entertainment,” said Michael Thorn, President of FOX Television Network, in a statement. “His wild sense of humor, unmatched ability to push boundaries and take on the extreme makes him the perfect fit to lead this bold new reinvention of Fear Factor.”
