The intersection between “beauty” and “talent” can be a hard one to find, but one thing is for certain: Actress Geena Davis, 69, would be right at the center of it. The Oscar-winning entertainer has a natural old-Hollywood look about her, and it clearly hasn’t faded.

Spotted at GalaxyCon in Raleigh, North Carolina, Davis looked strikingly gorgeous and fans were beyond thrilled to see her there.

“Geena Davis is an absolute legend,” stated one excited fan.

“Man she looks amazing! Good for her,” noted another.

“One of my celebrity crushes back in the day and she still looks amazing,” complimented another.

Though Davis is getting less roles now (more on that later) in her book “Dying of Politeness: A Memoir” she detailed just how much she loves to do what she does.

“In the song ‘Busy Man’ by Billy Ray Cyrus, there’s a lyric that says, ‘Have you ever seen a headstone with these words, ‘If only I had spent more time at work.'” wrote Davis “Well, if you haven’t, then mine will be the first. Because I do, with all my heart, wish I’d been able to work more in my forties and fifties. I mean, you can imagine how incredibly spoiled I was, considering that in my opinion) I’d landed some of the best roles out there — juicy lead parts with big arcs and so much to do. But I was deeply aggrieved to find that the work for which I’d been previously known, and which I’d loved with great passion, became harder to come by past forty.”

Making an Impact

That feeling aggravation did not make Davis go quietly into that good night. In fact, she began a foundation that focuses on media equality for women as actresses and consumers. She founded the Geena Davis Institute, which is a foundation dedicated to reinventing and transforming media by bridging gaps in gender, age and diversity representation.
