Real fashionistas know that gender labels assigned to clothing are only that—labels. And with her latest outing, Hunter Schafer demonstrated the power in blurring boundaries, taking a menswear piece and giving it a few feminine spins.
On Thursday evening, the Euphoria star attended the opening of a new Prada Men’s store on Fifth Avenue, where she wore a piece pulled straight from the luxury men’s shop, as styled by her go-to fashion partner, Dara.
The piece in question was a blue-and-white Nappa leather blouson jacket, which looked fit for a workout class or a morning jog.

The zip-up top came in a creamy white, with fitted ribbed hems in blue decorating the bottom of the jacket and the sleeves. Meanwhile, the same navy tone colored the super-high-neck collar, as well as some thin stripes that traced the sides of the arms.
Of course, while the piece was a nod to the new store opening, sweat jackets aren’t only reserved for men (just look to Missy Elliot at the Grammys or Glee’s Sue Sylvester if you need proof of that), and Schafer gave the menswear piece a decidedly feminine spin by pairing it with a matching white maxi skirt and set of pumps.
Then, to really give things a gendered twist, Schafer completed the look with a bright pink leather tote bag, also from Prada, which winked to her equally rosy-colored lip.
The end result was something sporty, delicate, powerful, and fun. Leave it to Schafer and Dara to demonstrate that, in life, things are never really just pink and blue.
