Hunter Biden says Democrats lost election because they weren’t loyal to his father

Hunter Biden said in a new interview that Democrats lost the November election to President Trump because they weren’t loyal to his father, former President Biden.

“You know what, we are going to fight amongst ourselves for the next three years until there’s a nominee. And then with the nominee, we better as hell get behind that nominee,” Hunter Biden said in an excerpt from an upcoming interview on former DNC Chair Jaime Harrison’s new podcast, “At Our Table.”

“And I will tell you why we lost the last election. We lost the election because we did not remain loyal to the leader of the party. That’s my position,” he told Harrison, according to the excerpt. “We had the advantage of incumbency. We had advantage of an incredibly successful administration and the Democratic Party literally melted down.”

The remarks are a part of a broader interview Harrison did with the former president’s son for a new podcast Harrison is launching on Thursday. His debut episode includes Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D). Hunter Biden will be featured in a forthcoming episode.

Hunter Biden has largely remained out of the public eye since the November election when former Vice President Harris lost to Trump. Joe Biden initially ran for a second term but later dropped out after a disastrous debate performance against Trump, later backing Harris as his successor.

The interview also comes after former President Biden pardoned Hunter Biden in the last days of his term over multiple federal charges against his son, with one case involving drug use and firearm possession and another case involving the withholding of taxes. The president argued at the time that “Hunter was singled out only because he is my son.”

But Joe Biden and his family have continued to receive attention even after the November, particularly after the release of several books on the 2024 election and the alleged coverup of Biden’s decline.

Most recently, the former president did a phone interview with The New York Times, in which he defended himself against allegations from Republicans over the use of an autopen to sign pardons. The interview sparked frustration among Democrats, many of whom argue he’s taking the GOP bait at a time when the party is looking to go on offense over Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” and MAGA frustration over the Jeffrey Epstein case.

As Democrats began conducting their post-mortem on the November election results, some members of the party believed that the former president should have exited the race much sooner.

Even before the former president exited the race, some high-profile Democrats like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) didn’t bat down the idea of the then-president dropping out, frustrating members of his family like former first lady Jill Biden.
