Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have settled on forever.
In a move that typically only exists in Hallmark movies, the future football Hall of Famer from the Kansas City Chiefs is now engaged to the pop star. On Tuesday, Kelce and Swift announced their engagement on Instagram with the caption, “Your English teach and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Just weeks after appearing on the “New Heights” podcast with Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, the famous duo is planning to be together forever. While marriage is the next stop for the power couple, it begs the question – where did it all begin?

The Kelce-Swift romance began two years ago, capturing the sports and entertainment world. Since that time, the couple has been a continued topic of discussion in movies, shows and so much more.

Their origin story all began between Swift’s Eras Tour shows at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City during July 2023. Just three months later, the relationship would become public, but speculation ran rampant during that time.
On July 8, 2023, Kelce attended the Eras Tour show at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Chiefs, with a friendship bracelet – a signature of any Swift event – he had made with his phone number on it.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce said on an episode of “New Heights” later that month. “So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”

Kelce noted the tradition, saying he received many bracelets, but failed to give the important one – with his number on it – to Swift.
“Your number as in 87 (Kelce’s number with the Chiefs) or your phone number?” Jason asked.
“You know which one,” Travis replied.
It wouldn’t be long before Swift started making appearances at Chiefs games.

She first debuted in September 2023, sitting in a suite with Kelce’s mother, Donna. Kansas City defeated the Chicago Bears in dominating fashion, 41-10. A week later, she was in the building for “Sunday Night Football” in the shadows of the New York City skyline as the Chiefs battled the New York Jets.
The relationship became official in October. Of course, he eventually managed to deliver the friendship bracelet as well.
In the December/January edition of the WSJ (Wall Street Journal) Magazine that year, Kelce revealed that he had some help.
“There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said]: ‘Yo! Did you know he was coming?’ I had somebody playing Cupid,” Kelce said.
In other words, Kelce and Swift first began their romance during the summer of 2023. It’s not often in the modern world that things are left to mystery, but there is no exact date where this relationship first began.
We’ll just have to use our imaginations – or perhaps there will be a grand reveal down the road.
