Fans went wild for last week’s premiere of The Challenge: Vets and New Threats, calling it one of the best first episodes in years. And, this week, the people hoping to be the new faces of the hit MTV reality series continued to make a name for themselves. Alliances were formed, preseason romance caused one player to melt down, and two women threw down in an intensely physical elimination.

Who was eliminated on The Challenge: Vets & New Threats Season 41 tonight?
Blue Kim
While she only lasted three episodes on The Challenge, Blue Kim was far from “purple.” The Big Brother alum immediately popped in her MTV debut, between her funny personality, showcase of her social game in currying favor with the vets, and her rather unique things she would do if she won this season’s cash prize. And so, given all her airtime, it was a bit shocking to see Blue go into elimination so quickly, as she and vet Derrick Kosinski failed to crack the code in the daily. Like last week, Blue asked the house to vote in Tay Wilcoxson as an equal match for her in elimination. And, once again, it ended up being a poor choice. While Blue fought valiantly in a rough-and-tumble wrestling match, her body ultimately gave out, and she gave in, allowing Tay to take the win.
Who won the daily challenge in The Challenge: Vets & New Threats Season 41 tonight?

The Challengers were told at the beginning of this week’s episode that the pairs of vets and new threats would be reshuffled for every single daily challenge. And so the new duos were given a task equal parts memory and puzzle, as they worked together to solve a pattern on the bottom of dune buggies that were soaring above them. Leka and Turbo were the first to figure out the trick to the challenge, realizing that there were similar patterns across the entire puzzle. So they took home the win, as well as the opportunity to put one pair up for nomination.

What did we learn about the format of The Challenge: Vets & New Threats Season 41?
While we learned a lot about the format of the new season in last week’s episode, there was still plenty of mystery going into this week. Here are a few more pieces of clarifying information we learned about the format:
–New partners will be chosen every week. The order of choosing partners will be determined by the order of finish in the previous daily challenge.
–The person who lost their partner in elimination becomes the “Hangnail.” If there is an uneven number of players, they do not get a partner, and are not able to participate in the next daily challenge.
–You receive 3 points towards your overall total if you win an elimination.
–The team that wins the daily no longer gets to protect another team. Instead, they will nominate a team to go up against the Hangnail in a jury vote.
–The rest of the house (minus the Hangnail and the nominated team) now vote for which person to send into elimination against the last-place team.
