Despite all the hot couples gracing the 2025 Met Gala with their presence, there was one that was noticeably missing — Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet.
All throughout awards season and up until just last month, the couple, who’ve been linked since April 2023, have been parading their puppy love for all to see. However, they didn’t show up to the star-studded affair in N.Y.C. on May 5, to the surprise of many.
While Jenner, 27, walked the Met steps solo, commanding the carpet in a custom Ferragamo gown, everyone — including her sisters Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner and her close friend Hailey Bieber — were spotted except for her man.
So where was he if not at the biggest night in fashion?

Turns out, the Complete Unknown actor, 29, was enjoying watching a game of basketball from home, keeping score of the New York Knicks game against the Boston Celtics.
On his Instagram Stories, Chalamet posted a point-of-view photo of the game playing out on his tablet. He also posted a selfie of himself looking laid-back and cozy in a gray hoodie. (Fortunately for him, the Knicks ended up beating the Celtics in overtime, 108-105. It was a tense matchup in game one of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.)
Chalamet attended the Met Gala in 2021, and hasn’t been to one since.

Jenner and Chalamet were recently spotted supporting the Los Angeles Lakers on April 30, their courtside date packed with loads of PDA as they kissed and cuddled throughout the night.
Following the outing, the Kardashians star appeared to hint at their rendezvous by later sharing a steamy swimsuit snap of her in a Knicks cap, showing support for her boyfriend’s NBA team.

In April, a source told PEOPLE that the two are “very serious.”
“With the awards season and premieres, earlier this year was intense for their relationship,” the insider said. “But they are making it work. Kylie is truly his biggest fan. She would clear her schedule to attend awards and premieres with him. She couldn’t be more supportive of his career.”
