This is not a drill: Heidi Klum has touched down on the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s steps. After a 12-year Met Gala hiatus, the Heidi Klum drought is over. And, unsurprisingly, the German supermodel has made her return with a bang at 2025’s star-studded gala.

Klum glided across the red carpet in an elegant nod to this year’s dress code, stunning in a custom strapless black gown from Vetements that hugged her curves. White print detailing trimmed the dress’s neckline as well as the ultra-long train that trailed behind her as she walked. Wearing a large diamond pendant around her neck, model complemented the LBD with her signature glam, composed of smokey eyeshadow and a matte nude lipstick. As for hair, Klum styled her radiant blonde locks in a blowout that showed off her layering. A pair of pointy-toed black leather shoes finished off her elegant statement look.
The Project Runway host’s ensemble is her take on this year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which is inspired by scholar Monica Miller’s book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. The fashion showcase—which is co-chaired by Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, A&AP Rocky, Anna Wintour, and Lebron James—is accompanied by an exhibit featuring work from designers Virgil Abloh and Grace Wales Bonner, among many others.

Klum’s appearance comes after foregoing the event a dozen times. She last attended in 2013, when she nailed the theme “Punk: Chaos to Couture” in a Marchesa creation. Her silver gown featured a strapless corset with a structured peplum and floral embroidery, along with a trailing satin skirt. She accented the piece with luxe bling, including diamond stud earrings and a matching tennis bracelet. Klum swept her tresses back into an easy bun and glammed up with dewy, rosy makeup.
