Harry Styles‘ latest fan interaction has gone mega-viral after a surprising twist.
A fan named Jess and her boyfriend Ted ran into the former One Direction member on a trip to Rome back in March. The pair spotted the 31-year-old singer while they rode a Surrey bike in the city and shared the selfie they got with him on Instagram captioned “a sequence of events (that i will never shut up about).”
Almost two months later, Jess took to TikTok on May 17 to reveal that not only had Styles taken a photo of her and Ted on his digital camera, the singer DM’ed it to her on Instagram with the sweet message “As promised, hope you guys had a great trip. H.” Jess also told PEOPLE Magazine that “Harry was genuinely lovely” and shared the cute selfie as well.
In the TikTok, Jess added that a “message request from Harry Styles is ridiculous #help” while she shared a screen grab of the Instagram message she received, along with the photo.
Fans were quick to react to the interaction and commented “just imagine THE Harry Styles sending a dm of a picture HE took of you” and were also surprised by the interaction because “I thought he’d at least be in the picture omg he really just took the picture FOR you.”
Another fan even joked that “Every time I hear about Harry styles it’s because he’s doing random side quests.”

Since going on hiatus after concluding Love on Tour back in 2023, Styles has been spotted around the world, enjoying his time off and at the studio. Most recently, fans were completely shocked when the “Adore You” singer was spotted at the election of Pope Leo XIV‘ on May 8.
Styles was spotted at Saint Peters Square at the Vatican among the crowd wile waiting for the new pope to be announced after the conclave.
