Harrison Ford, who just turned 83, isn’t too worried about booking gigs.
Speaking with Variety in a wide-ranging interview, the actor, whose legendary roles include playing Han Solo across the Star Wars franchise and Indiana Jones for the Indiana Jones franchise, was asked if he will ever retire.
“No. That’s one of the things I thought was attractive about the job of an actor, was that they need old people, too, to play old people’s parts,” Ford, who has starred in over 60 films, replied.

Ford also reflected on both recent projects and costars for the interview, including joining Ryan Gosling for 2017’s Blade Runner 2049, the long-awaited sequel to Ford’s 1982 sci-fi classic. The Shrinking star recalled the time he mistakenly landed a jab at Gosling, 44, while filming a scene, an incident they’ve both discussed in the past.
“[We were rehearsing a fight] and we got too close and I hit him,” Ford shared. “I apologized right away. What more could I do? Can’t take back a punch. Just take it.”
The actor joked of the Barbie star, “He’s a very handsome man. He’s still very handsome.”
