‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Actor Shares Candid Thoughts on Travis Kelce’s Acting originally appeared on Parade.
Happy Gilmore 2 star Christopher McDonald revealed what it was like to work with Travis Kelce in the comedy film, and he shared his candid thought on the professional athlete’s acting skills.
“Travis Kelce has been out there and I just really liked him as a person. He is really funny. Way too handsome, by the way, but really a good actor actually,” McDonald, 70, told People in an interview published on Thursday, June 26. “Surprisingly good.”
Not only did McDonald tease Kelce’s acting abilities, but he also opened up about the tight end’s golf skills.
“I think he’s got game,” McDonald said, adding that he and Kelce, 35, “did not” get to play together while filming. However, he noted that Kelce is a “good athlete” and is “a beast” when it comes to sports. “I’m sure he kills the ball,” the Watcher actor continued.
While fans are excited to see Kelce act in the project, McDonald hinted that there will be plenty of other famous faces making surprise appearances. “There’s so many people who just do lovely little cameos in this too,” he shared. “We got all this stacked cameo stuff that I can’t really talk about… I can’t really tell any things. I signed an NDA.”

McDonald appeared in the original 1996 film as Shooter McGavin. He is set to reprise the role in the sequel that will premiere on Netflix on July 25.
Adam Sandler, who stars in the film that he also co-wrote and produced, announced that Kelce had joined the cast during an August 2024 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
While not much is known about Kelce’s role in the comedy, he previously gushed about working with Sandler, 58, during a January interview on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show.
“I thought SNL was going to be the peak of my acting and showman or entertainment career,” Taylor Swift‘s boyfriend said at the time. “Working with Happy Gilmore himself, the Sandman and Happy Productions, it was off the chain.
