‘Happy Days’ Star Donny Most Turns 72: Here’s What He’s Doing Now originally appeared on Parade.
Entertainer Don Most is known by most of his fans for his time playing Ralph Malph on Happy Days. However, he has been performing consistently over the years since leaving that role behind. He celebrates his 72nd birthday on August 8, and he is still going strong.
Most appeared in 167 episodes of Happy Days, which aired from 1974 to 1983. He also voiced the same character on the animated series The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang when it aired from 1980 to 1981.
The actor went on to have appearances on other iconic shows throughout the ’80s, such as Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, and Murder, She Wrote. He has continued acting and has several projects in the works.
These days, Most recently told The Denver Post, he lives in Longmont, Colorado. He is once again embracing his love for music, which he explained was “my first love.”
“It wasn’t until about 10 years ago when it hit me, because I was still listening to jazz standards and the legendary artist who performed them. I said, ‘If I’m ever going to do it, I’d better start,’ because I wasn’t 20 anymore,” Most said of focusing on music.
He continued, “So I put together a show the way I always wanted to do, working with a musical director I knew from the East Coast. We tried it out at a jazz club in L.A., and it went great.”
The Happy Days alum released an album of covers in 2017. In 2023, Most and his wife relocated to be closer to family, and he connected with the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra in Denver. He has been performing with them regularly since then.
Most explained, “I love performing live, whether it’s acting in theater or singing in clubs.”
Fans have certainly not forgotten Most and his role as Malph on Happy Days. Many took to online outlets to share their birthday wishes honoring him.
“It has been great growing up with you,” one fan wrote on Facebook.
Another Facebook user wrote, “Happy birthday to you, sir! [Thanks] for the memories!!”
On Reddit, a fan wrote, “Lookin good bro!”
