Hank Northrop, son of Days of Our Lives legend Wayne Northrop, has asked fans for patience as his character Liam Selejko continues to develop on the long-running soap opera. The actor expressed gratitude for the support and excitement for what’s ahead.
On October 29, 2025, Hank Northrop made his debut on Days of Our Lives as Liam Selejko. Now, several months into his run on the long-running soap opera, the actor is sharing a message directly with fans.
Northrop recently spoke with Digital Journal writer Markos Papadatos, where he opened up about playing Liam, adjusting to the fast-paced world of daytime television, lessons learned from his award-winning parents, Days of Our Lives legend Wayne Northrop and General Hospital star Lynn Herring, and his advice for aspiring actors.
During the interview, Northrop took a moment to express his appreciation for viewers, saying, “Thank you! Honestly, I have so much gratitude for the fans.”
He also shared how meaningful it has been to join the soap that played such a significant role in his family’s history. “I feel so privileged and honored to be on the show Days of Our Lives, and carry on that legacy, which is so special to me with my father,” Northrop said.
Acknowledging that Liam’s story is still unfolding, the actor encouraged fans to give his character a bit more time to develop, “Just be a little patient with Liam.”
Northrop added that he’s excited for viewers to see what’s ahead. “I’m excited for when Liam starts ramping up a little bit, and the fans get to really see what he is about and learn more about him,” he said.
So far, Liam has appeared intermittently on the series. He was introduced as a student whom Abe Carver (James Reynolds) is mentoring and helping learn to read. Viewers have also learned that Liam had a difficult upbringing, with his parents in and out of jail.
The character’s past has continued to surface on screen. Abe’s son Theo (Joseph Tyler Andrews) revealed that Liam bullied him in school, while more recent scenes established that Liam has a young son, Gage. During a visit with Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey), Sarah noticed knife marks on Liam’s hands, a moment that raised questions about his past, though Liam insisted his only concern was to make sure his son was okay.
Days of Our Lives streams weekdays exclusively on Peacock.
