June 26 marked a big day for many entertainers, such as Hallmark and Food Network star Jonathan Bennett.
As People shared, June 26th was the tenth anniversary of the Supreme Court’s ruling that federally legalized same-sex marriage.
Bennett, known for Hallmark’s Finding Mr. Christmas and The Groomsmen movies, as well as Food Network’s Halloween Wars and the movie Mean Girls, wed his husband, entertainment reporter Jaymes Vaughan, in March 2022. The pair reflected on the landmark Supreme Court ruling and their married life for People.
Bennett explained that he felt “a sense of peace and relaxation” by getting married to Vaughan. “I think I wanted to do it because it gives you a sense of exhalation,” he added.
Vaughan also noted a sense of peace, admitting that marriage felt like “nothing changed, but also everything changed.”
After tying the knot in Rivera Maya, Mexico, Bennett remembered he felt it was “so magical” to “hold Vaughan’s hand and walk toward all of our friends and family and get to see everyone there supporting us.”
