The Biebers officially went from a party of two to a party of three last August when Hailey Bieber gave birth to their son, Jack Blues Bieber. The couple has protected their baby’s privacy and kept things pretty low-key, and Hailey just gave more insight as she opened up about her pregnancy and postpartum journey with Vogue.

“The pregnancy was difficult for me to wrap my head around. It was a surprise, and you go through a lot of emotions,” Hailey said of her experience after witnessing her sister’s pregnancy in 2020. “There are certain warnings: Your life is never going to be the same again. It changes in good ways, but it’s not going to be the same. You’re never going to be just an individual without a child ever again. And you’re not going to just be you and your partner, just the two of you. There was a lot for me mentally.”
The Rhode founder also spoke on the physical challenges she faced during her pregnancy and admitted that giving birth to Jack was the “hardest thing [she’s] ever done.”
While she prepared for her labor extensively with breathing exercises, acupuncture, yoga, pelvic-floor therapy, workouts, walking, and weight training, Hailey shared, “I was on that shit. I was doing everything. I felt stronger physically than I ever had before.”
She revealed that despite her exercises, she was induced at the 39-week mark when she started amniotic fluid. After doctors gave her a contraction-inducing medication and a Foley balloon to help with dilating, she went into labor for 18 hours with no epidural.
“That shit was so crazy. That was not fun. They broke my water. I went into labor and I labored for a few hours. No epidural, nothing,” she explained.

Once Jack arrived, Hailey told the publication that she struggled with postpartum hemorrhage and kept bleeding after his birth. “I trust my doctor with my life,” Hailey said. “And so I had peace that I knew she would never let anything happen to me. But I was bleeding really badly, and people die, and the thought crosses your mind.”
As for parenthood, Hailey and Justin are basking in the glow of their baby boy despite the divorce rumors and headlines spreading false narratives.
“Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I’ve ever gone through in my life, and learning a new version of myself is very difficult,” Hailey explained. “And to be doing that all the while going on the internet every day and people being like, They’re getting divorced and They’re this and They’re not happy: It is such a mindfuck. I cannot even begin to explain it. It’s a crazy life to live.”
