The Spring/Summer shows (shown months ahead of time) give us a good idea of trends we’re likely to see that corresponding season, but sometimes consumers throw us a curveball. Our buying habits may paint a totally different picture than what the industry dictates.

This season, our collective interests pose a rather interesting mix, according to Lyst’s latest ‘hottest products list’. As part of its quarterly index, the global shopping platform pulls together data from more than 160 million shoppers per year and quantifies their search and spending habits from across the online fashion market, including social media and other platforms. This is then distilled into two separate lists: the 10 hottest brands and the 10 hottest products of the past quarter. Though one or two surprising pieces are expected to find their way into the latter, Q2 of 2025 has proven to be a veritable hodgepodge of styles, including the return of quite a few contentious footwear choices. So, let’s dive into it.

This quarter, the hottest products occupy more of the high-fashion ground, with the number one spot cinched by The Row’s $690 Dune sandals. In fact, divisive shoe styles make up over half of the list, including Vibram’s V-Soul Flats, a ballet-style shoe constructed with five individual toes, which saw a 110% increase in traffic on Lyst in the past three months, and a 170% increase in Google searches in the past 30 days. Not for the faint of heart, Lyst points to the growing “hybridization of performance and fashion” as an explanation of the style’s popularity, following Puma’s Speedcat Ballet inclusion in the previous quarter.

Much to the chagrin of millennials who lived through the first coming, social media’s Y2k obsession is responsible for the resurrection of the Isabel Marant Bekett wedge sneaker, which has seen a colossal 630% increase in demand year-over-year, and sits at the number eight ‘hottest product’ spot. Marant released the iconic Bekett wedge in 2011. Now, nearly 15 years later, the hybrid sneaker is being embraced with open arms by a new generation (though those who lived through the first reign of the sneaker wedge look on in abject horror).

In fact, the popularity of cross-bred shoes seem to be the main takeaway from this quarter. Taking residence at number six, Ancient Greek Sandal’s Iro flats are the love-child of mesh ballet and jelly shoes. They proffer a nostalgic return to the glittery, transparent fisherman sandals of our younger years. Prada’s Collapse sneaker secured a spot at number 10 as the latest high-fashion take on the sneakerina trend, combining the slimline ballet flat with a sportier attitude. Then there are the Miu Miu suede loafers, which borrow much of their aesthetic from the classic boat style, a silhouette that has returned as a dominant shoe trend this season.

That leaves just four pieces this season which don’t fall into the footwear category. Juju Vera’s silver Petta shell necklace is the only accessory on this quarter’s list, which Lyst attributes to an “ongoing appetite for talismanic, coastal-adjacent jewelry.” At number two, Skims’ white cotton crew-neck tank top shows that the power of a good staple piece should never be underestimated. Adidas’ classic sprinter shorts follow in third place, with Zoë Kravitz having just demonstrated the allure of the sporty silhouette earlier this month.

But it’s not all basics and athleisure; Faithfull’s linen Hedy maxi dress puts summery, feminine dressing back on the agenda, also showing the promise of the butter-yellow color trend’s longevity as we continue the season.
