Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron completely transformed himself for a special reason in new photos, as he and his family put on a themed first birthday party for his granddaughter, Maya.
Cameron took to Instagram on July 31 to write, “Our precious granddaughter, Maya, turned 1 this past week! We had an 80’s party, with surprise appearances from Cindi Lauper and Prince himself 🕺🏻.”

He then shared a personal message to Maya, writing, “I’m grateful to be your grandpa / ‘chief’, Maya Jeanne. You bring epic amounts of JOY and pure love to our family. We promise to always treasure and protect you!🤲🏼💪🏼Happy birthday❤️.”
In the first photo, Cameron and his wife, Chelsea, were dressed up as Prince and Cyndi Lauper, respectively, with Chelsea planting a kiss on her husband’s cheek. They stood in front of a balloon arch with hanging CDs and other decorations. With the purple outfit, big wig and circle sunglasses on, it was hard to recognize the man as Cameron.
The second photo showed Cameron’s daughter Ahna, her husband Austin Bower, and their daughter Maya posing together in their ’80s-themed clothing and smiling brightly, while other snaps showed more of his family, including other kids and Cameron’s mom.

The actor’s sister, Candace Cameron Bure, commented on the post, saying, “Classic. Bringing me back to your bedroom with all your Prince posters growing up.”
Fans were stunned by the new photos, with one writing, “Oh the nostalgia lol Kirk Cameron almost didn’t recognize you and Chelsea. 😂 ❤️love it!” as someone else said, “So rad! Of course, Kirk was king in the 80s!”
Others commented, “This is so EPIC 🙌,” “You have a beautiful family!” and “This is so fun! What a beautiful family!!”
