A groom accidentally said the name of his ex-girlfriend during his wedding vows.
The bride burst into laughter and later posted a video of the awkward moment on TikTok.
She also told the Daily Mail that her husband “owes me a proper wedding now, where he gets my name right.”
Not all brides become bridezillas. Some, in fact, are so understanding that they defy expectation altogether. Case in point? Newlywed Rebecca Fildes, whose husband Andrew recently said the name of his ex-girlfriend in the middle of his wedding vows.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the bride was rendered speechless. Against all odds, Rebecca then proceeded to burst into laughter. She later posted the shocking moment on TikTok with text overlay that read, “When you’re [sic] new husband calls you his ex-girlfriend’s name🫣😂.”

Andrew, meanwhile, did not immediately realize his slip-up. The groom later told the Daily Mail that he “wasn’t even aware of it when [he] said it.”
“Rebecca just looked at me and I thought ‘What have I said wrong’ and she corrected me,” he told the publication. “My brother put his hand on his face and my son shook his head and I thought, ‘I’ve clearly got something wrong.’”
“It’s the worst nightmare saying my ex’s name but to be fair it’s Rebecca’s second name so I got her name all jumbled up when I was talking,” Andrew added.

For Friends fans, the unfortunate incident immediately called to mind an iconic moment in the show where Ross stands at the alter with fiancé Emily and accidentally calls her Rachel. Unlike Ross and Emily, however, Rachel and Andrew are still happily married.
“We’ve got the kind of relationship where I don’t think he did that for any reason other than just making a mistake,” Rebecca told the Daily Mail. “I just laughed it off and we still laugh about it. I keep saying he owes me a proper wedding now, where he gets my name right.”

Despite the mishap, Rebecca still says the wedding was “the best day of my life.” As for her groom?
“I was glad she saw the funny side,” Andrew said. “She loves to take the piss out of me for it and it comes up quite regularly. I don’t take it too seriously but it’s still embarrassing.”
