There’s no doubt that Gracie Abrams has a signature glow.
The “That’s So True” singer, 25, has become synonymous with her luminous, natural makeup looks that take effortless beauty to a whole new level. But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t had her fair share of skin struggles.
As the face of the Hourglass Cosmetics campaign Any Time. Any Place. Any Wear, Abrams is sharing the secrets behind her go-to look for the stage. Alongside her makeup artist Emily Cheung, the singer surprised fans at an intimate Get Ready With Me experience at the Hourglass Global Flagship Store in New York City. The event took place on Sunday, July 27, ahead of her highly anticipated tour stop at Madison Square Garden.
The star of her look is the Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer, which the Grammy nominee says is “still radiant even though it can be full coverage.”
“It really looks and feels like a second skin,” Abrams tells PEOPLE.
On the road, she’s found that putting the product on the back of her hand before spot-treating is the most effective application method. “Emily [Cheng] taught me the tip of letting the concealer sit for two minutes. It dries down more before blending so that it is more long-lasting.”
The singer says she’s become “well-versed in complexion products” due to her history with acne.
“When I went to college I had bad, painful, cystic acne on both cheekbones, chin, jawline,” she tells PEOPLE. “If you ever experience that kind of flare-up where it makes you feel like a different person and it actually physically hurts.”
After trying a slew of “crazy steps” to help cover her blemishes, Abrams fell in love with Hourglass Complexion because “it doesn’t make me break out” — which is one less thing for her to worry about amid her busy tour schedule.
“It’s nice to know you’re putting things on your face that don’t make life harder,” she says. “Hourglass does the opposite.”
