Glen Powell is opening up about his close friend’s brain cancer diagnosis.

On Tuesday, April 29, Powell, 36, revealed in an Instagram Stories post that makeup artist Charlie Hounslow — who has worked on movies such as Gladiator II, Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning and Asteroid City — had been diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma.

“Charlie Hounslow is a wonderful human I have the pleasure of working with every day. She’s a loyal and generous friend with an infectious laugh, and true zest for life,” the Top Gun: Maverick star wrote alongside a photo of Hounslow cuddling a dog.

“Charlie has just been diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma – an aggressive and currently considered incurable brain cancer,” Powell continued, adding a link to a GoFundMe page.

“Every contribution, big or small, helps get her the care she needs,” he insisted.

According to the Mayo Clinic, “Glioblastoma is a type of cancer that starts as a growth of cells in the brain or spinal cord. It grows quickly and can invade and destroy healthy tissue. Glioblastoma forms from cells called astrocytes that support nerve cells.” There is currently “no cure” for the disease.

A GoFundMe set up by Hounslow’s family stated, “To everyone who knows Charlie — you’ll know her passion for her work, her infectious laugh and sense of humor, her incredible zest for life, and, above all, the love she gives so freely to her friends and family.”

“You’ll also know that Charlie is fiercely independent — the last person who would ever ask for help. So, here we are, asking for her,” the description added.

The message continued of her diagnosis, “To say this has come as a shock is an understatement. After suffering a few awful headaches, she was admitted to Watford Hospital [in Hertfordshire, U.K.], where a CT scan revealed a mass on her brain. An MRI confirmed the worst. Charlie was then transferred to UCLH Queen Square, a specialist neurological hospital.”

The page stated that the family is hoping Hounslow can receive treatment at a “highly promising clinic in Germany,” but it’ll cost approximately $200,000.

The GoFundMe page had raised over $154,000 as of Wednesday, April 30. PEOPLE has reached out for an update on Hounslow’s treatment.
