Gigi Hadid may be used to walking the world’s biggest runways in waist-cinching corsets and sky-high heels, but in her real life, she loves her knitwear and her comfort.
The supermodel proved that once again this Wednesday, when she stepped out for a gloomy day in New York City in the most layered winter-to-spring look we’ve seen.
Hadid was seen leaving boyfriend Bradley Cooper’s city apartment in a cozy, extra-long gray wool coat that she layered, unexpectedly, over breezy pale-yellow lounge pants. Hadid wore sunflower-yellow socks to coordinate with her pants, and slipped her feet into one of her go-to shoes: black leather loafers.
For a final and very Guest in Residence style hack, the brand’s founder threw a tweed chestnut-brown work shirt with little yellow accents over her shoulders and tied it around her neck like a scarf. (The piece is from her very own brand, and retails for a hot $645.) Hadid shaded her eyes with skinny black sunglasses and was on her way.
At a New York pop-up for her cashmere label in 2022, Hadid spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about her goal for the brand, saying that she hopes her pieces last people forever and are “passed down” from generation to generation.
She also spoke about her own approach to dressing. “My goal in life is to look as chic or put together as possible while always being comfortable. I very rarely, even on red carpets, will wear things that I feel uncomfortable in throughout the event because I just feel like I can’t be myself as much when I’m thinking about what I’m wearing in that way,” she said.
