The proud dad shares with PEOPLE that he and his wife are “so happy and so grateful” for the new addition to their family and opens up about what life has been like since bringing the little one home.
“We are just so happy and so grateful for our growing family,” he tells PEOPLE. “The first few days can be crazy but, at the same time, they are incredibly rewarding. I wouldn’t change it for anything. Both mom and baby are healthy and doing well, so it really is a blessing and we’re just enjoying the time being parents to our four kids.”

In addition to the newborn, the couple, who wed during the summer of 2024, share three other children: daughter Eva, 19 months, and sons Maverick, 3, and Liam, 5. Antetokounmpo tells PEOPLE that his family of six is “such a blessing,” since he and his wife came from big families.
“It’s such a blessing to have a big family. Both Mariah and I come from big families, so we always knew we’d want one of our own,” he says. “And I love knowing that my kids will have each other just like my brothers and I had each other.”
The NBA star adds, “My kids, Mariah, my brothers, my mom, family.. it means everything to me.”
As for the other little ones in the family, Antetokounmpo says his three children have embraced the role of being older siblings.
“They’re definitely excited,” he tells PEOPLE. “Liam and Maverick are already great big brothers to Eva, and they’re very protective too. I think Eva is just happy to have another person to play with. I love watching all of their bonds grow little by little every day. It’s special.”

The Nigerian-Greek basketball player first announced that he and his wife welcomed their fourth baby together with a joint post on Instagram. While Antetokounmpo rarely shares photos of his kids on social media, his wife has been vocal about how much she loves raising a family with the NBA star. For Father’s Day in June 2023, the Sincerely, Mariah founder shared snaps of their family, noting how much of “a blessing” he is to their “growing family.”
“HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to our 🌍! We love you so much dada and thank you for everything that you do for our growing family. You are such a blessing!” she wrote on Instagram.
