After five seasons of thrilling entertainment and some heartbreaking moments, Garcelle Beauvais told her followers that she wouldn’t be returning to “RHOBH” after season 14 for several reasons. However, she assured her supporters that she wouldn’t be too hard to find once her storyline wrapped up for good.

Garcelle Beauvais Says Filming RHOBH Was a ‘Wild Ride’
Beauvais, who skyrocketed to fame in the ’80s and ’90s due to her roles in “The Jamie Foxx Show” and “Coming To America,” joined the reality show during its tenth season in 2020.
The actress and mother of three made headlines as the first Black woman to join the series in a full-time capacity. “As the first African American Housewife in the Beverly Hills franchise, I am honored and humbled by this awesome opportunity to exemplify the fact that Black Girl Magic lives and thrives in every zip code,” she said ahead of her first season.
Since then, Beauvais has become a fan favorite among watchers, mainly due to her feuds and intense interactions with some of the series’ marquee players, including Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, and Dorit Kemsley.

She also had her fair share of troubling moments with some of the ladies, which were showcased during her earlier episodes. But after five years of action, Beauvais, 58, has decided to trade in her diamond for something else.
In an Instagram video, Beauvais told her followers that she had news to share. “I have decided to leave ‘Beverly Hills,'” she said before calling the experience “a wild ride.”
She continued: “… some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have also happened — but it’s been a ride nevertheless.”

Garcelle Beauvais Is Leaving ‘Real Housewives’ to Focus On Her Family
After joining “RHOBH,” Beauvais began taking on new work opportunities that involved writing and producing content. During her goodbye message, she said pairing that with the show would be a lot on her family, and her priority is on them at this time.
“One of the reasons why I’m leaving is my family, my boys,” the actress said. “Their last year of high school is next year, and I want to be a part of that. And Jaid is starting a new career and I want to be a part of that, too. And secondly, I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing, and acting in — I can’t tell you anything now, but you’ll know soon.”

Later, during her video, Beauvais teased that she could return to the series in the future, especially since she has Andy Cohen’s (the show’s executive producer) blessing.
According to her, the “Watch What Happens Live” host said she “can come back anytime” and that “the door will always be open.”

Fans Are Praising Beauvais For When She Decided To Leave
After Beauvais made her surprising announcement, Bravo viewers began sharing their reactions and opinions to the star’s message online.
“Leaving while on top is the best way to handle business,” one user wrote. “But man, oh man, did ‘Beverly Hills’ just lose a gem.”
A second user agreed and used Beauvais as an example of a “Housewife who used the platform correctly” while staying true to herself. “She took the many opportunities being on the show afforded her [and] built on that. May her career go onwards [and] upwards from now on.”
“Garcelle pulled the greatest move any seasoned vet could do,” a third person commented. “She stayed herself from beginning to end [and] left on her OWN terms with class!”
Several Bravo stars, including Teresa Giudice, Heather Dubrow, Drew Sidorda, and Cohen, also reacted to Beauvais’ departure.
“An incredible run from an incredible human,” Cohen wrote. “BRAVO.”

How Did Beauvais Use The ‘Housewives’ Platform?
Although Beauvais was a working actor before joining “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” the reality series certainly revived her career.
After her first season concluded, Beauvais joined the cast of the popular talk show “The Real” before announcing her first memoir, “Love Me As I Am.”
She also joined the series of Netflix’s “Survival of the Thickest” and inked a deal to executive produce three Lifetime Original movies, including “Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted by Love.”
“In addition to executive producing, I am thrilled to be starring in the Terry McMillan Presents movie because I can so deeply relate to being a woman who has to make hard decisions for matters of the heart,” she said in April 2024.
