Former ‘American Idol’ Star Drops Bilingual Love Song That’s All About ‘Indulgence’ and ‘Sensuality’ originally appeared on Parade.
David Archuleta is back with his first collection of new music in more than five years.
The American Idol alum released his Earthly Delights EP, featuring six tracks including his viral hit “Crème Brûlée,” the sultry “Can I Call You,” and his latest single, “Dulce Amor.”
“Dulce Amor” — a blend of English and Spanish — brings bright, flirtatious energy to the project.
“It’s that kind of love that just makes life sweeter,” Archuleta said in a press release. “It’s romantic, it’s physical, it’s emotional. It’s truly indulgent and leaves you wanting more. I wanted to capture the full flavor of that.”
The singer describes Earthly Delights as a bold new chapter in his career, one that embraces sensuality and self-expression.
“I’m in my indulgence mode when it comes to giving into my sensuality. Something I always villainized before,” he shared. “There’s something sweet about being naughty. And it’s actually helped me to get in touch with more tender vulnerable parts of myself… here’s to a big F you to my old fears and embracing the sensual side and ‘earthly delights’ of how good and rich it feels.”
Alongside the release, Archuleta announced his first North American tour in over five years.
The tour kicks off September 17 in Phoenix and will stop in cities including San Francisco, Toronto, and New York (already sold out), before wrapping October 17 in Philadelphia. Support acts include Alexandra John and Rachel Bochner on select dates.
