  • Alaska Airlines passengers Kristen and Sam received marriage advice from fellow travelers on their plane as they jetted off to their wedding in Phoenix, Ariz.

  • The couple was given the handwritten notes after the flight attendants onboard helped ask passengers for their advice

  • The newlyweds documented the sweet gesture in a video shared on TikTok

A couple flying to their wedding was left very prepared for the big day and life as newlyweds after they received marriage advice from their fellow passengers onboard the plane.

Alaska Airlines passengers Kristen and Sam received handwritten notes from passengers as they headed to Phoenix, Ariz. for their May 22 wedding. They said that it was all thanks to their flight attendants, who organized the gesture.

“The sweet flight attendants helped to ask for marriage advice,” Kristen explained in a video posted on TikTok. The clip included a photo of a flight attendant speaking to another passenger in the seat ahead of the couple.

The recent bride shared another photo of a pile of handwritten notes laid out on her table from her fellow passengers as she started reading through them all.

One couple wrote in their note that they are “high school sweethearts” and have been married for 40 years before sharing their marriage tips. “Our advice to you is never give up, nothing is perfect. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Never stop communicating. Never go to bed mad,” the note read.

Another passenger wrote, “Keep God at the center of your marriage and have fun together. Don’t forget to be best friends [and] laugh at the little thing. Stick together through the hard times [and] good times will eventually come again.”

One passenger shared with the couple what they learned after tying the knot in November 2023: “Embrace everything together. In an ever-changing world, you will be each other’s constant,” they wrote. “Rely on each other while seeking out the incredible moments of your journey. It’s beautiful!”

“Unspoken expectations are premeditated resentments,” another person shared their words of wisdom. “Be nice, communicate wants and needs.”

Someone else warned, “Always respond to your partner’s bids for attention. If they say the sunset is pretty, drop everything and enjoy it together. If they ask if they look nice, truly take a moment to take them all in and give them a compliment. If they give you a quick hug, hold them longer. These small moments matter for intimacy.”
