Tuna products across seven states have been voluntarily recalled by four different stores.
The products may include ingredients contaminated with Listeria.

Tuna lovers, beware! A new recall related to tuna salad in different states might have you rethinking your lunch plans this week.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced multiple voluntary recalls for tuna products supplied by Reser’s Fine Foods on July 21. The breadcrumbs used in Reser’s tuna salad may have been contaminated with the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes which may cause illness.
Listeria is most dangerous in young children, elderly people, and pregnant women, and may cause serious health complications and even death. The FDA warns that less serious symptoms to watch out for include high fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
Symptoms often appear within 24 hours of eating contaminated food, although they can sometimes take up to two months to manifest.
Recalled products
The good news is that only seven states are currently subject to the recall. Affected products may have been sold in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas at Albertsons, Randalls, and Tom Thumb stores, or in Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa at Jewel Osco.

What to do with recalled products
If you have any of these products at home, the FDA suggests either throwing them away or returning them to the store for a refund. In other words—don’t eat them.
Because Listeria monocytogenes can spread to other foods or surfaces through contact, it’s also important to thoroughly clean any surfaces these products may have touched and to get rid of any other food that may have been cross-contaminated.
