  • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of prepackaged sandwiches from Fresh and Ready Foods, LLC., after they were linked to the hospitalization of 10 people.

  • The recall was initiated after people reported Listeriosis symptoms, which are caused by a Listeria infection.

  • The recall is ongoing and includes 86 different types of sandwiches.

The latest recall to hit shelves involves prepackaged foods. Specifically, Fresh & Ready LLC is recalling 86 types of ready-to-eat sandwiches, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The recall comes after 10 people were hospitalized with listeria infections.

According to a statement from the FDA, the recalled products were sold between 4/18/2025 and 4/25/2025, and they were packaged in plastic containers that featured three different brand names, including:

  • Fresh & Ready Foods

  • City Point Market Fresh Food to Go

  • Fresh Take Crave Away

The packages all include Use By dates that range from 4/22/2025 to 5/19/2025, and they were sold across four different states, including California, Nevada, Arizona, and Washington. Customers were able to grab these ready-to-eat meals at several different locations, including grocery stores as well as food service locations in hospitals, airports, hotels, and more.

Some of the recalled sandwiches include:

  • Fresh & Ready Foods Mike’s Tuna Mac Pasta

  • Fresh & Ready Foods Street Corn Dipper Snack

  • Fresh & Ready Foods Breakfast Bistro Box

  • Fresh & Ready Foods Caprese Baguette

  • Fresh & Ready Foods Italian Ciabatta Sandwich

Customers can find a full list of all 86 sandwiches included in the recall by visiting the FDA’s website. If you believe you have impacted product, do not eat it.

Listeriosis is caused by a Listeria infection, and symptoms typically start within two weeks of exposure. Many people will experience mild symptoms as a result of this infection, which can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, muscle aches, and fatigue.

More serious infections can present with more intense symptoms—like confusion, stiff neck, loss of balance, and even convulsions—and the very young, very old, and those who are pregnant and at a higher risk of experiencing more severe complications.

The FDA advises anyone who has purchased these products to stop using them at once, and to clean and sanitize any surfaces or utensils that may have come into contact with the food to prevent the spread of the bacteria. The FDA is also directing anyone with symptoms of Listeriosis to contact their healthcare provider immediately.

There have been 10 cases of Listeriosis linked to this recall as of the time of publication—eight of the cases were reported in California and two of the cases were reported in Nevada—and all 10 of the people who had reported symptoms have required hospitalization to manage their symptoms, highlighting the severity of their infections.
