Fat Joe is getting in some R&R with his son.
On Monday, May 19, the rapper, 54, shared a rare new photo on his Instagram of his 34-year-old son Joey as the father-son duo relaxed in chairs on the beach. Joey can be seen wearing a white bucket hat, red T-shirt and shorts, smiling as his dad snapped his photo.
“Lil Joey Chillin in the shade just sippin some lemonade,” the proud dad wrote in his caption.

This past April, the rapper appeared on Today and was asked about the fact that April is Autism Awareness Month. Fat Joe, whose son Joey was diagnosed with autism later in his life, shared why he uses his platform to openly talk about his son.
“We’re so proud of him, and he’s in a state of happiness. Euphoria of happiness. He’s never not happy this guy,” Fat Joe said of his son Joey. “It’s hard. It’s not easy, and so if it’s not easy for me and I’m all right, just imagine the regular, average person who has to deal with autistic kids.”
“And so they see somebody like Fat Joe — we more than embrace and love our kid. It gives them every reason to know they’re doing the right thing, showing their kids love. So that’s why it’s so important to us,” he explained.

A year prior, the dad of three shared a photo with his son Joey on his Instagram as he honored his oldest on World Autism Awareness Day. In the father-son throwback photo, Fat Joe rested his chin on his son’s head, looking off in the distance.
“WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY Joey this one’s for you 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙,” he wrote in his caption.
As a guest on an Oct. 16 episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast hosted by Shannon Sharpe, the rapper spoke about his son Joey, sharing that despite his son’s “challenges,” the 34-year-old is happy. “I swear to God, he’s always happy. He’s never sad. He’s like, if you’re stuck in a place, he’s stuck in happiness.”
Fat Joe explained that Joey knows his place in his blended family of five, calling him the “Don.”
“He does what he wants. He gets what he wants. He’s the Don,” the dad of three shared. “He sits at the end of the table, he knows ‘Oh, those are my little brothers and sisters.'”
“He’s our biggest blessing because we treat him the way we do because we never gave up on him,” Fat Joe continued.
