Fans Are Dream-Casting a Fleetwood Mac Biopic originally appeared on Parade.
The internet went wild when Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckinghambegan cryptically communicating with song lyrics on social media last week. Now, there’s buzz that Fleetwood Mac might be getting its own biopic and people have already started creating their perfect fancasts.
Logan Lerman and Andrew Garfield earned multiple votes to play Buckingham in a TikTok video, while others think the only acceptable choice is Bradley Cooper. (Cooper already proved he has serious pipes in 2018’s A Star Is Born.)
A separate fan suggested The Umbrella Academy’sRobert Sheehan.
“Hear me out. Robert Sheehan for Lindsey Buckingham,” they wrote in the comments section on TikTok.
On Reddit, someone floated a younger Glenn Howerton for the role but admitted the Always Sunny star might be too old to portray the guitarist’s early years.
Casting choices for Nicks ran wide with several female stars named including Stranger Things’Millie Bobby Brown, Carrie Fisher’s daughter and Scream Queens star Billie Lourd and American Horror Story’sLily Rabe topping the list. The idea of casting Rabe is especially poetic considering her past role in AHS Season 3’s “Coven.” Rabe played Misty Day, a swamp-dwelling witch who had the power to bring animals and people back from the dead and idolized Nicks. Nicks even made a cameo in episode 10 when she appeared as herself and sang Fleetwood Mac’s iconic hit “Rhiannon.”
As for the rest of the band, Saoirse Ronan was a popular pick for Christine McVie, while It star Bill Skarsgård was suggested for Mick Fleetwood.
While fans might not agree on casting, one thing is clear: they’re ready for Fleetwood Mac to get the big-screen treatment.
“Fleetwood Mac NEEDS a biopic film so bad; especially more so now after Christine’s passing,” one TikTok user wrote. “Honor her and the band and their incredible journey. For real, their story from beginning to end is one for the ages.”
