Matt Rogers, may be a frontrunner when it comes to who should take the permanent ‘TODAY’ spot next to Jenna Bush Hager, but it turns out he has some hiring thoughts of his own.
In an appearance on “Watch What Happens Lives With Andy Cohen,” on Monday night, the podcast host, who was joined on the show by bestie Bowen Yang, was asked his thoughts on getting the highly-coveted job. And before he could even respond, he got a ringing endorsement from Cohen himself.
“I am loving you cohosting the show, and I gotta tell you, Matt Rogers is my choice,” he said.
However Rogers walked it back a bit, and even though he said he’s loving his time on the morning show, which he’s co-hosting this week, he actually had his own thoughts as to who should take the full time spot.
“I always say if I have a blast with someone outside of [Yang], it’s JBH, and I love my girl,” he said. “While we’re saying who we think should get it, I think Justin Sylvester is fantastic and I think that he’s perfectly suited for it,” he said.

The search has been on for a permanent co-host to sit alongside Hager following Hoda Kotb‘s January departure. Throughout the rotation of trials, Sylvester has co-hosted several times — including a full week in February and in May — and has always been a hit with fans.
Other favorites have included Scarlett Johansson and ‘Today’ anchor Savannah Guthrie.
