‘F1’ Star Makes Bold Claim About Working With ‘Bridgerton’ Actress Who Was Cut From Film originally appeared on Parade.
Damson Idris broke his silence about working with Bridgerton star Simone Ashley after it was confirmed her role in F1 was cut from the film.
In an interview with BuzzFeed UK, the F1 star, 33, revealed that Ashley’s role “was sort of a love interest situation” for his character in the film.
“Essentially, the role was more of a cameo kind of role,” he explained. “But, as with many movies, the director’s cut. I mean I’ve been cut out of movies, and these things happen.”
The film — which also stars Hollywood heavy-hitters like Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem — immerses viewers into the world of formula 1 drivers and the racing world as Sonny Hayes (Pitt) makes his comeback into the sport alongside his teammate rookie Joshua Pearce (Idris) during the Grand Prix.
Despite Ashely’s reduced screen time in the film, Idris also shared that he knew Ashely is “gonna work with not only [director] Joseph Kosinski again, but definitely with me again.”
“I love Simone, not just as a person, but also as an artist,” he continued. “I think she’s stupidly talented.”
