Even the royal family can’t wait for more Slow Horses.
In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, star Gary Oldman revealed, “The Queen said to me, ‘Are there any more?’ I’m led to believe that they like Slow Horses.” Season five of the British spy thriller is set to premiere next month on Apple TV+; the cast has already filmed a sixth season, and a seventh is in the works. “It is something I could just do. Can I see an end? I don’t know,” Oldman said. “I love the people and the show and the character.”
The royal family keeps their TV habits close to their chest, but on occasion, will share what they’re watching. Queen Camilla has shared she’s a fan of Grace, even visiting the set of the detective series. This past December, Prince William revealed he and Kate Middleton had been binge-watching Black Doves, the Netflix thriller starring Keira Knightley, and a few years ago, the Prince revealed they watched Killing Eve.
It’s unclear if King Charles watches Slow Horses with his wife, but Oldman recently received a knighthood in the King’s recent birthday honors. “I’m thrilled with it,” Oldman said of his knighthood, “and no, I wasn’t angling for it. I mean, I’ve done some stuff for charity over the years, and I would like to think I’m a good export, an ambassador of Britain. I have a green card, but I don’t have American citizenship. I’m still a British subject.”
