The entertainment world is mourning the loss of Eric Dane, known for his roles in Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria. Following his death at 53, friends of the late actor have launched a GoFundMe campaign to support his two daughters, Billie and Georgia.

Friends of late actor Eric Dane and his family have started a GoFundMe drive for his two young daughters following his death at 53.

Dane’s family announced his death — which came 10 months after he publicly announced his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis — in a statement on Thursday. The Grey’s Anatomy star left behind wife Rebecca Gayheart, and daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13 — whom the GoFundMe describes as “the center of his world.”

“Following his diagnosis, Eric became a passionate spokesperson for the ALS community, using his voice and platform to advocate for fellow patients and to push for greater awareness,” the GoFundMe states. “Even as his own health declined, he remained deeply committed to helping others facing the same devastating disease. As his illness progressed far more quickly than anyone could have imagined, Eric’s friends have come together to create this GoFundMe to support his girls and their future needs.”

It concludes, “Any contribution, no matter the size, will help provide stability during this incredibly difficult time and in the future for Eric’s wonderful daughters.”

News of the GoFundMe’s creation comes hours after the release of his taping of Netflix’s Famous Last Words, which he filmed in November 2025 to only be released after he had died. In it, he shares his final words for his daughters.

“Billie and Georgia, these words are for you,” Dane said while speaking directly to the camera. “I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried. Overall we had a blast, didn’t we? I remember all the times we spent at the beach, the two of you, me and mom — in Santa Monica, Hawaii, Mexico. I see you now playing in the ocean for hours, my water babies. Those days, pun intended, were heaven.”

He then went on to give four pieces of fatherly wisdom to the girls, including the importance of choosing good friends, the importance of falling in love, the importance of fighting tough battles, and the importance of living in the present. Dane concluded his message by telling his daughters that he hoped he had shown them that they could face “anything.”

“The two of you are different people. But you’re both strong and resilient. You inherited resiliency from me. That’s my superpower,” the Euphoria star quipped. “You knock me down, I bounce right up, and I keep coming back. I get up again, and again, and again. Mark says I’m like a cat, except a cat has nine lives, and I’m on number 15 — easily. So when something unexpected hits you, and it will because that’s life, fight and face it with honesty, integrity, and grace, even if it feels or seems insurmountable.”

He concluded: “You can face the end of your days. You can face hell with dignity. Fight, girls, and hold your heads high. Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you. Those are my last words.”
